todays busness :)

well today we had a great lecture by jo hodge a textile graduate of doj. she specialises in wearable technology ie smart materials. i really liked the heat and light reactive fabrics. not sure if id use it in my own work but was good to see another designers work!!

i got some good ideas from jo about my critical making project. my project is on bus tickets and how they really badly designed. this all started because i lost my day ticket.....the little paper ticket that is unreadable any way!!

my proposal is to use rfid tags as the payment for the bus........to explain further, there would be a machine at the bus stop in which you would scan your tag which would be contained in a bracelet. your details would come up (only a name and photo in case of theft) and you would pay your fair. then when you got on the bus you scan your bracelet. hopefully this would reduce loss of tickets and damage.

any comments or advice welcome :)
